My practice of therapeutic support involves helping individuals and families move toward acceptance of the realities that surround them while helping them shift perspectives to find peace within themselves and within their families.
By utilizing Insight-Oriented Psychotherapy I work to support my clients in accomplishing their goals by identifying and working through obstacles they encounter on their journey towards success. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Radical Acceptance as the foundation of my practice.
As a Clinical Social Worker and mother of two, I utilize my professional knowledge and life experience to support and guide parents and caregivers in addressing complicated parenting issues. I work with caregivers to develop strategies that help create a strong working partnership with neurotypical and neurodivergent children which facilitates strength, growth and peace within the family system.
I trust that there is inherent strength, love and kindness in all of us. Sometimes the struggles we encounter in life, make it hard to feel and express those attributes until we find new ways of showing up for ourselves and others.
I believe true wellness comes from an holistic understanding of mental, physical and emotional health. I work from a perspective of seeing the whole person while partnering with clients to create goals that facilitate healing and growth.
My experience in social work has taught me that each one of us has a duty to work to correct the long standing inequalities that exist all around us. I hold in high value my belief in working towards a better future where we value all aspects of race, gender, sexual orientation, and neurodiversity without judgment.
I obtained my Masters Degree in Social Work in 2004 from Georgia State University. I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2010.
I have been fortunate in my practice to work with a culturally diverse population facing a variety of challenges socially, mentally, legally, and within themselves. My experience includes work with individuals and families going through the adoption process, juveniles in a therapeutic group home, those facing anxiety, depression, and incarceration.
I have dedicated much of my adult life to my own personal development as a woman, mother and professional. I emphasize compassion and partnership through engagement with others in a process intended to encourage insight, growth and healing.
